Serial rapist ex-London Metropolitan police officer David Carrick has been given 36 life sentences, and will serve more than 30 years in jail for offences against 12 women.  He pleaded guilty to 85 offences, including dozens of rapes, between 2003 and 2020 while he was a serving police officer.  Carrick was sacked by the Met in January for gross misconduct and the force apologised for failing to identify and remove him.
