I learned yesterday that Dr. Bob de Frece passed away earlier this month.

A pillar of the #yeg community, he founded the Greenwood Singers, and lead the U of A Mixed Chorus and Handbell Ringers for... a long, long time. Back to the 1980s?

He touched many Faculty of Education and Department of Music students at the U of A and beyond for decades.

I remember clinics with him and meeting him in passing. He was an inspiration and mentor to many, and he's sorely missed. Bob was 77.

James Handricksen, board member of the Greenwood Singers, joined @jessica and Min Dhariwal on CBC Edmonton's Radio Active earlier this month: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-52-radio-active/clip/16191632-remembering-robert-de-frece

In case you (probably) missed it, here's my choir @chronosvocalensemble singing our anthem for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta on Monday.

I've never seen the house so vocal about the anthem in all of my Legislative watching.

MLA @ShoffmanAB looked up to me after and put her hand on her heart after the anthem, which was everything to me.

Months in the making, I'm proud we could make this finally happen.
