Prosecuting attorney #ZacharyThompson said he was not bringing #hatecrime charges against #AndrewLester, which some have called for, because they're a lower-class felony in Missouri than felony assault, which is a Class A, and he doesn't want to risk double jeopardy in the case. He did say, though, that race played a part in the shooting.
