This is a picture that needs to be sent to city design teams working on any bike infrastructure projects that propose curb separated bike lanes that are separate from both the roadway and sidewalk. It is a stupid design when it comes to winter snow maintenance. #yycbike #yyccc

Normally I also would have complained about the complete lack of snow clearing on the steep pathway hill down to the rail crossing, east of Shaganappi GC, but the rough clumpy snow provided much better grip than a cleared ice glazed path would have. #yycbike

There are truly very few days when studded bike tires are needed in #yyc but today is one of those days. Freezing drizzle put a glaze on the pathways, so avoid sudden changes in direction! Only one big fishtail this morning when I put down the power too soon on a bridge ramp! 😬 Stayed up! #yycbike

A vast amount of gulls have now appeared along the Bow River in the last couple of days. No pictures but they were noisier than the resident goose population. Also, I forgot my lunch at home (sad trombone). #yycbike
