There are truly very few days when studded bike tires are needed in #yyc but today is one of those days. Freezing drizzle put a glaze on the pathways, so avoid sudden changes in direction! Only one big fishtail this morning when I put down the power too soon on a bridge ramp! 😬 Stayed up! #yycbike

Tip for determining if the path is wet or ice? Gently drag a toe of your boot. If it slides, it’s ice, if it drags it’s wet.

Normally I also would have complained about the complete lack of snow clearing on the steep pathway hill down to the rail crossing, east of Shaganappi GC, but the rough clumpy snow provided much better grip than a cleared ice glazed path would have. #yycbike
