I wrote a blog post about how Yuuri's skating practice could look like. It's probably an unpopular/controversial opinion as it contradicts popular headcanons, but I hope it gives other YOI fans a realistic insight into his training:

Blog post from someone doing Japanese -> English translations that puts the interview with the #mappa CEO that caused an uproar in the YOI #fandom last week into the right context:

Rest assured, the interview wasn't meant to tell us fans that the movie is cancelled! Also please be careful which sources you trust!
As I decided that turning 41 isn't a reason to stop getting myself nice things, this Eros Yuuri moved officially in with me today. I will make sure Coach Viktor will follow soon to keep Yuuri from feeling lonely and being forced to put up with a notorious fangirl like me alone.
Yuri on Ice fans! Remember the tanuki statue in the Yu-topia onsen? I wrote a short meta about its function for the story based on Japanese folklore:

#YuriOnIce meta-analysis: How episode 7 is a textbook example of how Viktor struggles to put himself into someone else's shoes despite his evident strong compassion - an analysis of how normal-to-heightened emotional empathy and low cognitive empathy work together for this character (and also in general). I finished my current latest rewatch of YOI last night, and I'm still in awe of how episode 12 utilises the theme from the beach scene as Yuuri and Viktor lay bare their love by making each other stay in their mutual passion. The creators did a amazing job at solving their conflict through their unique love language. With every rewatch I love this series even more if that's possible!
For more #YuriOnIce in the Fediverse here's a revamped meta-analysis that completely reshaped my thoughts on the ending of the series and once more showcases the emotional maturity of the lead couple.

Gearing up for the final chapter of the YOI fanfic I started writing during my week off in an attempt to restore some of my faith in my writing. I hope I'll be able to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.
My writing buddy has already cuddled up on my lap for support, so let's go!

When fiction meets reality: Choreographer Kenji Miyamoto shares some hilarious details about irl figure skaters and his involvement in #YuriOnIce:
"There are also Easter eggs based on real life events. In the past, I told the Director the story how Stephane tapped my butt once, and then I saw that scene in the anime, so I was watching it thinking: "Woah, you've used that!"
