Something most NZers are unaware of is NZ has a trade surplus with both China and US, the main difference between the two trade relationships is China doesn’t charge tariffs on NZ imports. Also NZ and China’s FTA allows both countries to trade with each other using their own currencies.

USA on the other hand has always charged tariffs on the NZ imports it allows in and has never offered NZ a FTA in its trading history despite expectations of loyalty to US and military alliances.

This #NZPol govt threatening NZ’s unique relationship with China only to satisfy US interests leaving NZ worse off is a clear indication of the economic and political threat our spineless government has created for NZ and the Indo-Pacific region.
