I think that I stumbled on a paradoxical tool for staying in the moment & only focusing on doing the next right thing. I'm curious if anyone else has found a similar efficacy.
The secret is calendar reminders.
I've found that my brain relaxes from running the list of everything that I need to do. Normally it's constantly running in the background and causing anxiety that I will forget an important task.
It might have taken awhile for my brain to trust that it didn't need to keep repeating the list over and over. I'm not exactly sure how long that took, but just putting something on the calendar causes a drop in anxiety.
