i'm having lots of fun making my slides for parents night using Obsidian with Marp plugin.
an odd feeling!
Ok. I'm decently sure that the parted-breaking bug that was in the generic Linux 5.8 kernel – and supposedly fixed in the 5.9 kernel – may have ended up back in (at least Red Hat's version) of the 5.14 kernel. Trying to effect a pivot-root operation that allows me to reuse a remote VM's boot-disk as a build-target is getting blown up at the point where I go to repartition the boot-disk. Then I get a lovely:
Partition(s) 4 on /dev/nvme0n1 have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes.
