RandomYarningColleague and I were going through some old deeds this week, and found an 1889 deed hand written on vellum. Sometimes my job is a little humdrum but sometimes you get to touch something like that :)

I work in property law, and sometimes we see the most unexpected covenants (a promise the buyer of a property needs to adhere to). They usually come out of a historic property dispute. This is the most recent I've seen that made me stop for a second look.
We had our office Xmas do yesterday, which was also a farewell to the building we've been in for nearly 30 years. Had the delights of two fairly senior partners performing Fairytale of New York (we hired a karaoke machine). Also the guy who is also in a band sang "Faith" which was as expected great, but the partners were amazing!
Apparently I am the expert on an exceptionally niche thing we use at work and I get to show some exceptionally senior tech people what we do with it, and how, so they can figure out how to analyse the things.

My work laptop has a phone app now, so we can provide the same level of phone ability whether we are wfh or in the office. However whoever tested it does not use headphones: the unchangeable settings make incoming calls "ring ring" through the speakers and flashes up a popup window, AND plays a tune though the headphones which you can only hear if you have headphones on! So I guess I'm not missing a call then !! #WorkRelatedToot #LegalSecretary
