I got myself Wolves of Withervale some time ago, but I kinda stopped at 25% ;~;

I had expected some more... furry stuff? But there was too much human lmao

So I am wondering for those that have read it, did I stop at the wrong time, or did I misunderstand the concept of the book?

Looking at the titles of the later ones, I am super drawn to it, but I already have a hard time reading anything anyway, so I'd like to focus on stuff that would interest me.

(The book is well written either way!!)

Oh, I should update y'all: I successfully (re)finished #WolfOfWithervale and moved on to and finished #CampDamascus last month! Both were fantastic, as expected. WoW went much faster when I let go of my need to physically read alongside the audiobook and just finished the audiobook alone.

I can see why folks say Camp Damascus isn't a great "horror read", but I definitely think it stands pretty strongly on its own as a drama/fantasy read. Highly recommended.

I finished #WolfOfWithervale ! It was fine. I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped. Spoilers below!

Reading #WolfOfWithervale in the work lunchroom makes me feel ALIVE

It reads like normal fantasy 95% of the time, and the 5% is VERY SUDDEN NSFW

I'm reading #WolfOfWithervale and just got up to Lago's shapeshift. I have some issues with this book, but I've got to say, this is impressive sensory writing – it's great at communicating how it FEELS to be the hot anthro wolf man.

Today brings my read-every-day streak to *81* days! This is far and away the longest streak I've had in *years* and it makes me so happy to be focusing so much on #reading again.

Yeah, maybe 1 page (physical), 1% (eBook), or 1 minute (audio) each day is an easy goal, but that's kind of the point. I only wanted to make sure to stay in the habit so I don't overlook the moments when I feel like reading more and this is definitely working!

For those curious, my main read right now is #WolfOfWithervale🐺, the first book of the #NossSaga by @joabaldwin.

Bonus: this goal has opened me up to reading some things I would normally avoid, like a book of short stories and a book of quotes, each by #OscarWilde, that my husband got me. When reading for pleasure, I typically go for only full novels - if not series - but intentionally creating little moments of "just read a page" helps me feel okay about picking up something short.

@joabaldwin
Hey, I noticed that your book, #WolfOfWithervale, is available as a #DRMFree ebook from at least one store you sell it at. I just wanted to give you a *huuuuge* THANK YOU for that! DRM is so unfriendly to consumers and I am so happy to see another author (and self-publisher) reject it.

Oooh, got my signed first edition #WolfOfWithervale by @joabaldwin today! I can't wait to dig in, but I also just started another big book just this week, so I'm gonna have to, I guess...
