Book Review - Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear

Rating: ⭐⭐ Review § This book by itself is kind of boring, but the story is nice. Basically, once in Belyyreka, nothing really happens, there is little conflict.

Just finished the latest #waywardchildren book by @seananmcguire.bsky.social I very much recommend the whole series. libro.fm/audiobooks/9... #amreading, 💙📚🐢

Reading “Mislaid in Parts Half-Known”, book 9 in the excellent #WaywardChildren series by Seanan McGuire. I love this series so much!! #fantasy #queer #lgbtqia #bookstodon #FridayBook #SeananMcGuire

Read ACROSS THE GREEN GRASS FIELDS by Seanan McGuire if you love horses, centaurs, satyrs, fauns, minotaurs, kelpies, unicorns & all manner of hoofed creatures; secrets, expectations, destinies, best friends, found family, ridiculously soft denim, breaking cycles & going to the fair.

Read IN AN ABSENT DREAM by Seanan McGuire if you love ordinary & remarkable children, goblin markets, birds, besties, delicious pies, wanting & needing, losing yourself in books to avoid the pain of reality, loopholes, pencils, fair trade, being sure, sisters & debts.

I’m listening to the third #OctoberDaye book and enjoying it more, so far, than the first two. I really like the #WaywardChildren novels but have struggled with the way ‘crazy’ is discussed in the October books. It hurts my mad pride heart. (I don’t expect media to be perfect, and don’t think that’s a reasonable or possible goal, but I do try to engage critically, and I think it’s worth talking about the things that are sharp, or the dominant discourses that are unquestioningly replicated.)
