Ms. Que BanhWe arrived in Canada, as war refugees seeking asylum, in the depths of Winter, 1979. Just most of Dad's side of the family made it to Canada. Mom's villager family was trapped & couldn't get out; they're still in Vietnam.
Both my matriarch & patriarch Grandparents were war refugees from the Indochina wartimes - in both Vietnam & China. Our family members had to flee from more than one war & resettle, multiple times over several generations. We know how to survive & rebuild our lives, over & over again.
I support all fellow past & present refugees struggles for basic human rights, dignity & creating a good life for themselves/their families. I am against wars & greed-filled inhumanity - like most war refugee survivors.
