One final shot of the tree as it stands at 2am - only one more pole left of branches to fill, and then sprucing it all up and topping it off, along with finishing the rest of the small lobby tree installs and the exterior Porte cochère decorations. The team did amazing this year!! #WLTree
Time to call it quits this year. On the way out, I spotted my cute wicker woodland friends!! These buddies go on the top of the lobby doors, and around the lobby. My faves!! #WLTree
Elsewhere in the lobby, the garland is lighting up, and is complete in some areas, while still being worked on around the Mercantile and front desk. #WLTree
The Buena Vista Construction crew and Pete (the electrical guy) are working to center the tree and connect the guidewires from each pole to stabilize it for safety. #WLTree
Adding the last pole!! This runs through row HH (after Z, it goes to AA, BB, etc). These branches are enormous now. The tree is as tall as it is going to be now. It’s also break time for the very hardworking Holiday Services crew! #WLTree
By the time you get to rows Y and Z, the branches are as long (from end to end) as a person is tall!! And we still have a whole pole of even longer branches to go! #WLTree
One of the hardest parts of this work is standing back to find where to put the icon ornaments, and adjust any lights or fluffed branches (truly!! It’s so subjective!!) #WLTree
At this point, the process gets pretty repetitive for folks who are watching. The lobby crowd has died down from about 25 folks to about 5. The background music (which switched to Christmas at midnight inside!) is now off; so the only sounds are tree building and a vacuum #WLTree
I’m sitting next to a really cute woodland animal on branch X-1 😂 #WLTree
Row T is going in now - as they get about halfway through the tree (around row T-U) the branches get longer and bulkier, so they wait to fluff them until *after* they slot them in and plug them in. It makes it way easier and less unwieldy. #WLTree
