Serge from BabkaTIL that Owlbear Rodeo source *was* released, but under a non-Free license that explicitly disallows modifications, even local ones.
So instead of helping to build a community around their product, they've fulfilled a promise to the community, but only barely but ensured that the thing they released was a dead end, as they promised no updates, offer no support officially or unofficially, and as I said, banned modifications.
To me this burns through the good will Owlbear Rodeo built up. :(
