I believe a #compression #algorithm based on #Vim would be really funny. As though it were playing #VimGolf, the algorithm tries to find the shortest ‘path’ from an empty file in Vim to the desired file.

No posts with #EmacsGolf yet? Those would be an interesting learning opportunity 😄

Note: You need surround.vim.

As a side note, the original VimGolf website that inspired this plugin is still active and usable: https://www.vimgolf.com/

VimGolf - real Vim ninjas count every keystroke!

A new plugin implements daily Vim Golf challenges: https://github.com/vuciv/golf

The goal is to change some text with the shortest number of keystrokes possible.

It's still quite early in development and there are a few bugs here and there, but it might be an interesting project to follow.

@arq drive by question: why not look for files named config in .git directories? It would avoid sed.

Just curious and trying to learn from others.

#vimgolf 😉

In case anyone was wondering.

I play #vimGolf and try to conserve key presses.

With this* in mind, I prefer tab(s) over (many) spaces.

*Im a system administrator and am therefor lazy and prefer to make the computer work for me.

would love to play me a game of #vimgolf but it requires me to sign in via #twitter, which I am not quite eager to do... #vim
@claire I should really get back into #vim simply because it's plain fun sometimes... Have you ever seen #vimgolf? That can be so much fun.
