At the time of partition in 1947 people were free to CHOOSE which side of the 2 borders they wanted to live in.
Most #Muslims chose E or W #Pakistan, but many chose #secular #India.
Are you familiar with #VijayaDashmi & #Muharram, both of which frequently fall on the same day, with massive processions of #Hindus & massive processions of #Muslims winding simultaneously through narrow streets?
Both sides did live in communal harmony until #Hindutva.
