Tried to get the chimney capped once before, but the chimney guys ghosted us and it got forgotten. While not endangered, the populations of Vaux's Swifts are declining because of the loss of habitat (they nest in dead trees), so I hate to deprive them, but they're noisy, and I'm concerned about bird flu seeping into the house. So I'm investigating obtaining some nesting boxes as an alternative after we close up the chimney.
