This was gifted to me today. It's a Variegated Ficus, and I don't believe it's ever been repotted. I will have to break that pot to get it out.
I am not familiar with these at all. How to proceed? Repotting is a must, but trimming I am not sure of. Big cuts could kill it, and I know they are a milky sap producer; I don't want to introduce infection. Better to trim all the ends and hope it fills in?
Do I loosen the root ball or leave it to enjoy new soil and larger pot?
