German law enforcement agencies have taken out the ‘Vanir Locker’ gang known for its malware-spreading activities. Good news.
The interesting thing is that it did so by, in effect, hacking the Tor network that was being used by the criminals using the ‘Timing Analysis’ technique. OK, all good.
Luckily Tor is also used by good people, like dissidents and not just criminals.
Now I wonder, I've already read about Tor being ‘hacked’ a few times... but wouldn't it be a good idea to also focus on other tools such as I2P or Freenet? Why are these ignored by so many?
