Avalanche Canada has issued a special warning for Banff, Yoho, Kootenay, and Jasper National Parks, as well as Kananaskis Country, effective until March 24, due to recent storms overlying a weak snowpack. High avalanche danger is also forecasted for Vancouver Island's mountains and the Sea to Sky region this weekend, with alpine snow totals potentially reaching up to 100 cm.​
