World-renowned gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell is back with a powerful ballad of encouragement. It is perfect for anyone dealing with any challenges in life. Fresh off the success of his recent chart-topping hit “Make A Way”, Mitchell is excited to announce the release of his newest single, “Working Together”.
“Working Together” is a soul-stirring track that sends a gentle reminder that “…though your heart is breaking, your life is His to save it.” It encourages listeners to hold on to His hand because He won’t let you fall. The song also includes a special feature from rising singer Taelia Robinson Jackson, who helps take the song to another level. Jackson has worked with Mitchell several times in the past. She features on his songs, “Turning Around”, “God My God”, “Son of God”, and “Watching”. She is most notably known from “Wind of God”. “When asked about the inspiration behind the new single, Mitchell says, “It came from Romans 8:28 — the reminder that no matter what we face, God is weaving it all together for our good.”
Make a way
This new release comes at a time when Mitchell’s career is soaring yet again. This follows the #1 on Billboard success of “Make A Way”. When asked about the success of “Make A Way” he says, “I’m truly grateful. To see how the song has touched lives and climbed the charts just reminds me that God’s timing is always perfect.” When asked about the jump between an urban sound with “Make A Way” and now a slower melody with “Working Together”, he says, “Both sounds are part of who I am. Also, I love bridging styles, but I never want to lose the foundation of the church that shaped me.”

Billboard magazine declared “Nobody Greater” the #1 Most Played Gospel Song of 2011. Furthermore, Billboard named Mitchell the #1 Gospel Radio Artist of 2011. Triumphant ranked among the Top 5 Gospel Albums of 2011. The single held the #1 position for nine consecutive weeks on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart. It even crossed over to the Urban Contemporary Adult charts. Building on the success of “Nobody Greater,” VaShawn released Created 4 This, generating the top 5 single “Turning Around for Me.”
Following this project VaShawn went on to record and release, Unstoppable (for which he received a Stellar Award nomination) and Secret Place, which was recorded live in South Africa. Secret Place was released in November 2016 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts.
Joy
The first single from his latest project is an infectious song entitled “Joy” which held the #1 spot on radio charts for several weeks. It earned VaShawn his first Dove Award as an Artist for Urban Worship Song of the Year. In 2019, VaShawn released Elements, celebrating 20 years in the gospel music industry.
