The Mayor of Auckland is making noises like an utter fool. The "someone else's job" remark, is reminiscent of the "I don't hold a hose" comment from Australias former PM Morrison. Something else he may have in common with Australian right wing politicians - climate change denialism.
The worst floods Auckland has had in living memory. 1.2 degrees global heating has been commensurate with sea level rise, receding glaciers, raging fires and floods across the world.
Yet when asked by Kim Hill on RNZ if he thought climate change was a factor "too early to say".
How could it not be a factor. What an utter fool.
