I can't believe that it has been TWENTY YEARS!!

Libya, October 2005.

We took a small group tour around the highlights of Libya: Tripoli, Leptis Magna, Sabratha, Cyrene & Apollonia, Tobruk, Benghazi, Ghadames, Germa & Ubari desert.

The archaeology was amazing. A combination of ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine cities, with minimal excavation and tourism. Desert oases and caravan towns.

In a few years, Gaddafi would be deposed and the country would descend into a civil war that is still going on.

Ubari holds Al-Wadi Exhibition for Palms and Olives

Al-Ghuraifa area in Ubari is hosting fourth Al-Wadi Exhibition for Palms and Olives on September 20. The exhibition, which will be held over two days in the Old City, aims to highlight the vital role that palms and olives play in the economy and sustainable development and is an opportunity to highlight the efforts made to protect and revive this natural wealth.
