Gentile lettrice, era ora da tre anni. Ma vale la pena porsi una domanda: perché Meloni ha chiesto le dimissioni di Santanché solo dopo il referendum? A ben guardare, la ministra del turismo non c’entra nulla con la riforma della giustizia elaborata da Nordio e tantomeno ha responsabilità dirette nella sconfitta referendaria. E allora? Allora è semplice: dopo la batosta nelle urne Meloni ha capito di essere alla guida di un governo non credibile, un governo “sputtanato” per dirla in gergo popolano, e prima che nell’opinione pubblica si diffondesse la micidiale equazione “governo-non-credibile = Meloni-non-credibile”, ha cercato di raddrizzare quel che è nato storto. Ma difficilmente, se uno nasce asino, diventa cavallo. In verità, se Meloni avesse avuto un po’ di decenza e di statura politica, avrebbe dovuto rimuovere Santanché non appena la ministra fu ufficialmente indagata per truffa all’Inps: un ministro dello Stato accusato di truffa allo Stato è una cosa insostenibile. Ma è inutile aspettarsi decenza e statura da una Meloni che terrorizzava i votanti del No con previsione fosche – “Vi troverete in casa immigrati, stupratori, criminali…” – mentre l’unico immigrato, stupratore e criminale accertato che le è capitato tra le mani è il libico Almasri, che il suo governo accompagnò premurosamente a Tripoli con aereo di Stato e tappeto rosso. Il problema di Meloni è che l’equazione “governo-non-credibile = Meloni-non-credibile” è già provata matematicamente. Non ci voleva Einstein.

Dear reader, it was about time three years ago. But it’s worth asking a question: why did Meloni only ask Santanché to resign after the referendum? Looking closely, the minister of tourism has nothing to do with the reform of the justice system devised by Nordio and certainly doesn’t have direct responsibility in the referendum defeat. So what? Then it’s simple: after the defeat in the polls, Meloni realized she was at the helm of an uncredible government, a “shit-stained” government, to use popular jargon, and before the deadly equation “government-not-credible = Meloni-not-credible” spread in public opinion, she tried to correct what was born crooked. But it’s unlikely that if one is born a donkey, he becomes a horse. In truth, if Meloni had had a bit of decency and political stature, she should have removed Santanché as soon as the minister was officially investigated for fraud against the INPS: a minister of state accused of fraud against the state is an unsustainable thing. But it’s useless to expect decency and stature from a Meloni who terrified No voters with dark predictions – “You will find yourselves with immigrants, rapists, criminals…” – while the only confirmed immigrant, rapist and criminal that came into her hands was the Libyan Almasri, whom her government kindly accompanied to Tripoli with a state aircraft and a red carpet. Meloni’s problem is that the equation “government-not-credible = Meloni-not-credible” is already mathematically proven. No Einstein was needed.
