After #Utahns passed 3 of 4 propositions in 2018, the #utleg, in its infinite wisdom, made it even more difficult than previously for voters to add things to the ballot. They aren't meeting the total signatures requirement on this anti-Prop 4 effort, but they're even more off at meeting the regional signature requirements.

On this day, 30 January 1973, Burgess Owens was drafted out of the University of Miami 13th overall by the New York Jets. He went on to play 10 season in the NFL for the Jets and the Oakland/LA Raiders. He played Defensive Back and amassed 137 starts, 30 interceptions (including 4 pick-sixes), and was a member of the 1980 Champion Oakland Raiders, leading all players in tackles in the Super Bowl. 1/

Championed legislation to lower the penalties for an 18 year old still in high school who has sexual relations with someone below the age of consent. This was a key part of the legal defense of his 18 year old granddaughter who was facing felony charges for rape resulting from a “relationship” with a 13 year old.
