I don't have time to check this right now as I have somewhere to be, but I am pretty sure this is the same individual that uploaded the CDC data to Internet Archive.

This affects numerous sites with climate information and research, including NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), NASA, and Department of Energy.

ncei.noaa.gov all urls where a lot of information is still up but these are definitely in their sights

NOAA has a lot of well-made educational materials, videos, and podcasts also worth saving.

too tired to write about it rn, but working on a site to index government data scrapes via RSS feeds of torrents by category. so people can track and distribute scraping more easily, collect all the scraping that's already been going on, and contribute whatever spare storage they can instead of relying on single large archives. if that sounds interesting to you i'll have something for you tomorrow.

I hope that someone have a copy. Or that someone who works at the CDC might, at some risk to themselves, enable a hard drive with a backup to fall into the right hands so we can stand up some publicly available mirrors.

Is there a hashtag, group, chatroom, forum, etc. For data scraping/archival re: US data purge? Specifically talking about raw data like data.gov rather than website crawling which seems to be handled by archiveteam and end of term archive. Like #USDataPurge or something
