USBKVM app update!
Version 0.3.1 makes device detection work in pipewire-only environments such as newer flatpak runtimes.

I've also found out that the "type text" feature was essentially broken on Windows with the capture chip crashing after starting to send keystrokes. Looking at the I²C bus from the capture chip showed that there's only about 100µs of gap between bytes on windows, compared to 700µs on Linux where this feature is working perfectly fine.

It is finally done. The first fully routed draft of the "USBKVM Pro Slim". Because I am a bit of a novice on PCB design, I am currently waiting on feedback from a trusted advisor on this. Let's see what the feedback will be. Still trying to get this produced (including a housing) till #39c3 but the timeline is a bit full. #usbkvm

#usbkvm application update!!

People have been reporting that they couldn't use USBKVM for the CentOS or Proxmox VE installer since the default resolution of 1280×720 isn't tall enough to fit the UI.

To fix this, I patched the EDID embedded in the MS2109 EEPROM to set the default resolution to 1024×768.

With version 0.3.0, the client app supports updating the EEPROM to roll out this improvement to all USBKVMs out there:

The USBKVM client app (still no idea for a better name) is now available in version 0.2. This release includes

- Support for non-US keyboard layouts
- Faster device detection
- Video capture device detection works with libcamera installed

Right now the app doesn't run on mac OS, if someone wants to change that, here's what I think needs to be done: https://github.com/carrotIndustries/usbkvm/issues/6

The app could also use a better icon: https://github.com/carrotIndustries/usbkvm/issues/7
