At the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy's side event on “Building Africa’s Digital Workforce” at #UNGA80, the Nigeria AI Collective was on ground and well represented — Osasuyi Dirisu, PhD (Executive Director, Policy Innovation Centre (PIC)) and Olubayo Adekanmbi PhD (Our founder /Co-executor of Nigeria AI Collective).
 
The session spotlighted the mission of the Collective: driving AI research rooted in Nigeria’s realities, building local skills and capacity, shaping responsible AI policies, and fostering collaboration across industry, academia, and government.
 
The Nigeria AI Collective is working to make sure AI in Nigeria is not just imported, but homegrown, inclusive, and impactful across agriculture, health, finance, education, and beyond.
