@rms We need to pin the minimum wage to a value that goes up with cost of living. So make the minimum hourly wage equal to 2% of the median monthly housing cost in the county or parish where the work is performed. #TwoPercentOfRent.

Minimum hourly wage to be 2% of the median monthly housing unit cost in the county or parish where the work is performed.

According to Zillow, the median monthly rent in the US is $2050 (which is on a downward trend).

Under my proposed #TwoPercentOfRent #MinimumWage --wherein the minimum hourly wage is 2% of the median monthly rent for a single residential unit in the county where the work is to be performed--that translates to a median minimum wage of $41/hour.

$25/hour is too low for 2024. We can't afford to let it stagnate for decades again, either.
