I was ready to see the crew that helped train them in pairs compete against them. I was ready to see the former single master try to become a master of pairs skating.
I was ready to see our main duo actually compete together on a massive stage. Especially since it was supposed to be a televised event and they were the first pair up!
But, alas, it ended.
At only 4 volumes, if this series drops physically, I would absolutely consider getting it and re-reading it from the beginning. I did enjoy it that much.
The arc that finished introduced us to some new characters and it was building up to this upcoming skating tournament set in 2022. I was ready for the tournament.
Instead, it ended just before the main duo was about to perform.
I'm kind of glad that it didn't leave us in a weird place or try to rush things with the plot. It ended at a logical place without trying to force a rapid fire ending to the series.
However, it wasn't a satisfying ending. I wanted more! I wanted to see this specific event!
Two on Ice has ended. This was a cute series that I was really invested in about figure skating.
Short version: Hayuma is good at sports as a kid, sees a female figure skater, becomes obsessed with teaching himself figure skating. As a teenager, he meets said girl (Kisara) and the two end up skating together in pairs.
Watching the two of them grow as individual skaters, overcome their personal issues, and grow as a skating duo had been great. It was really building up to something, I felt, that could have been very new and exciting.
