Lost Horizons is the second studio album from the British electronic duo Lemon Jelly, released on 7 October 2002. Released by XL Recordings and produced by Nick Franglen, the album generated two charting singles in the UK, "Space Walk" and "Nice Weather for Ducks"; the latter has often been called the album's stand-out track...

Chris Dahlen of Pitchfork felt that the album was a little too saccharine at times, but that it is "the perfect disc to throw on after your four-disc Ultrachill Dub Groove Mix has put the whole party to sleep. It's like eight flavors of ribbon candy, beach balls hitting the ground like hail, and a big plastic clown face that blows helium." - Wikipedia

Lemonjelly.ky is the debut album by the British duo Lemon Jelly, released on 23 October 2000. It compiles all nine tracks originally released on the duo's first three limited edition EPs: The Bath, The Yellow and The Midnight,.. - Wikipedia

Review by Dean Carlson

Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen compiled their first three EPs of fizzy chill-out for those late-night lava lamp staring sessions. It's downtempo for the acid generation, an eschewing of popular prêt-à-porter after-hour aesthetics. You wouldn't catch many an icily cool dance group writing songs of slow-motion fascist mamba marches ("Homage to Patagonia"), universal U.K. garage meditations ("Page One"), or Edward Scissorhands sipping cocktails at Eighteenth Street Lounge Music ("His Majesty King Raam"). Perhaps a good thing.

Phantogram

Melkweg, Friday, June 19 at 07:30 PM GMT+2

The American duo Phantogram broke through in the twilight days of Myspace. Their trippy electro-pop sound is the result of a surprising blend of hip hop, shoegaze and electronic loops. Drawing on this crossover interest, the duo says they learn a lot from collaborations, which has already resulted in productions with The Flaming Lips, The Alchemist, Outkast's Big Boi and Tom Morello.

Their latest single, “Fall In Love Again”, is a collaboration with HNTR. With pumping beats and euphoric melodies, the duo gives a nod to their earlier single “Fall In Love” from 2014. And that's not all, because this summer the duo returns to our stage after nine years.

Evidence

Melkweg, Wednesday, July 1 at 07:30 PM GMT+2

From the time he first emerged as a founding member of the seminal group Dilated Peoples, Evidence has established himself as one of hip-hop’s most accomplished rappers and producers. He has worked with The Alchemist, Action Bronson, DJ Premier, Westside Gunn, and Rapsody, and also earned a Grammy Award for co-production on Ye’s 'The College Dropout'.

His new album, 'Unlearning Vol. 2', reunites him with collaborators from across eras. Longtime associate The Alchemist furnishes four beats and also appears on ‘Rain Every Season’. Dilated’s DJ Babu provides cuts on ‘Outta Bounds’, while ‘Stay Alive’ bridges three different generations of hip-hop’s underground, with Evidence and Blu trading verses over a beat from Conductor Williams. Through it all, Evidence’s work remains united, as always, by a commitment to hip-hop’s fundamental tenets: reinvention and recontextualization, the transformation of hardship into something inspiring, and creativity above all.
