I like how sometimes you can just find trees with labels and fun tree facts on them. In this case I could’ve ID’d the magnolia by myself, but it’s still cool

Trees reproduce through bukkake. #TreeFacts
One thing I do appreciate about Facebook is how it much it tries to find signal through the noise. Like, I would never intentionally sign up for #treefacts, but I guess I hovered for a second to long on a post about a tree because now every suggested post is just an interesting fact about trees. And they’re interesting as hell. Zuck knew I was interested in trees before I knew I was interested in trees.

You know those trees with the softball-sized green brain balls? They are called Osage Orange. The wood is crazy dense/tough. Natives used its wood for their bows. The French called the tree Bois D'Arc (sounds like bowed ark) which translates to wooden bow. Right now around the Midwest the leaves are gone and the balls are a danglin’. They look hilarious. ALSO SEE: Hedge apple.

Elm (Ulmus) are the most resilient and persnickety trees when it comes any kind of removal. In three specific instances there's new sprouts...hearty bark system, pulls all moisture and water sources. #treefacts
