Widespread regulation of the maternal transcriptome by Nanos in Drosophila

The translational repressor Nanos regulates abdominal segmentation in the early Drosophila embryo, but it remains unclear what are the mRNAs targets that regulate its function. This study identifies extensive regulation of maternal mRNAs by Nanos during the transition from ovarian to embryonic development in Drosophila.
