On this TDoR i would like to remind us all that none of the trans folks that have passed this year died of anything less than murder.

It doesn't matter whether their official cause of death was foul play, accidental, or even self-induced. We are in the middle of a state sponsored campaign to eradicate our existence. Hatred and violence against trans people have become the ever-present background music of our lives.

Their blood is on the hands of every politician that endorsed hate, every red voter, every Fox News listener. Every vile word uttered steadily eroding our will to survive.

It doesn't matter how it happened. It's murder.

Of course, as soon as I selected this topic, #twitter caught on fire and there was a mass exit. On #transdayofrembrance I cried some tears and questioned whether I was up to writing that piece after all. It was/is not too late to choose something else. But no, this is my topic. #transdayofrembrance today being highlighted by exactly what we need to remember is so on-brand. My heart to those who have gone before and those we lost last night. May their love be carried forth by those who knew and loved them.

May we continue to fight for a world that allows us to stop adding names to the lists of the ones lost to violence and hate.
