This is the first time I bothered putting on makeup this year, so the selfies must flow!
This is the first time I bothered putting on makeup this year, so the selfies must flow!
So today I wore two things I hadn't before. One I've already mentioned: fishnet stockings. The other was actual 𝑟𝑒𝑑 red lipstick (as opposed to my usual range of pinks or peaches or nudes).
You may recall that I dyed my hair the other day, and I was originally going to wait until a day when I had the gumption to put on makeup to post pics of how it turned out, but since that hasn't happened I decided screw it I would do my part to normalize unshaven, no makeup selfies and post a couple of pics from when we hiked the Wiley Trails this week. Left is in the back room before the hike, right is out on the trails and getting sweaty:
Part Two: Dress, Cardigan
So I wore another of my beloved skater dresses with pockets. It was only in the mid fifties (Fahrenheit) out, so I threw on a cardigan to keep cozy.
(Excuse the background mess, it's time to take care of the recyclables again.)
Part One: Face, Makeup
I really wanted to try out this glittery green liquid eye shadow which I had acquired, just in case I wanted to wear it to pride next weekend, so I figured I might as well put on makeup and a nice dress for a run to the pharmacy. Which of course means bunches of selfies from slightly different angles, because I'm trans and I love that this is who I get to be
Just a reminder that I'm still hella cute even without makeup.
Picture from this morning before heading out the door to hike with my teen. No makeup or filters, just a trans flannel lesbian in her mid fifties.
It was a gorgeous day, so we went for a short walk after dinner. I was trying out the flannel lesbian look with shorts, and I think it worked. But mostly I just wanted to show off my new shoes
(I have to fight my own tendency not to post selfies where I'm not wearing makeup, like these, despite the fact that that's how I go most days. I didn't even shave today. And I pass fine.)
The parents-in-law took us out to dinner last night to celebrate my new job, so I did some minimal makeup-- second time this month!-- and tried out a peachier toned blush than I usually use. The light was good and I was feeling cute, so that means selfies!
If anyone ever feels like they're too old to transition, you're not. I was fifty when I started; several years in now, and this is me
and I'm the happiest with myself I've ever been
It's been a while since I posted a transition timeline, so to make up for it this one's a double. Both use the same "before" picture of me from 2018. The "after" picture of the timeline on the left shows me in the present (2024) with makeup and a dress, while on the right I'm in no-makeup Chapstick/flannel lesbian mode. No filters in any of them.
