Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a proposed $6 billion over five years to recruit, hire and train up to 100,000 Red Seal trades workers across the country. Federal government projections suggest that Canada will need more than 1.4 million new trades workers by 2033.

Partnerships, new facilities aim to turn Grande Prairie into a trades training hub
Northwestern Polytechnic is renovating campus spaces and building a brand new trades training facility as they gear up for their first academic year consolidated in Grande Prairie. They are also eying partnerships with other local schools to get students into the trades earlier.
