I remember #Chernobyl. I was a child; we lived 2,000 km west and were lucky not to be under the #toxicCloud. Teachers at school constantly reminded us to wash our hands as soon as we got home. That year, it was forbidden to pick mushrooms in the forest. (That #mushroom ban wasn't lifted for several years.) We #children didn't understand any of it, but the #adults knew what had happened from the news. Nevertheless, there were plenty of #rumors.
