#TopicOfConversation This all happened on the same day, a day after the Supreme Court’s affirmative action ruling. Coincidence? Are we in the midst of another nadir period in American history? See post about nadir.

Discrimination. Yes as a woman. Denied jobs bc uterus=children. Denied jobs bc men need to provide. Or, girls take cooking, not metal shop.
Comparatively to non-whites? Oh, no.
I'm not sure there is more discrimination or not. I do think there is more license to discriminate on the public stage. You don't have to wear a hood or hide it up your sleeve. More reporting (news, cell phones, video etc) makes us more aware.
More overt vs covert.

#TopicOfConversation

It’s been a while. Let’s have a #TopicOfConversation. Have you been the victim of discrimination? What made you feel this way? Is the level of discrimination in the world rising or falling? What makes you think so?

@zhivi Read a lot of replies to Part 1 and Part 2. The entire #TopicOfConversation has made me think and squirm. I had to think about my answer for a long time, which is telling in itself.

Part 1 made pretty clear that those of who are white and aware of our privilege are uncomfortable with it even while we benefit from it. The answers to Part 2 showed me people who are comfortable in their own skin, happy, joyful, celebrating who they are.

I guess I'd say the difference is white guilt. We stole a country from one people and then the lives and the backs of other people we stole from their homelands made us successful. Reparations would be a start, but I really don't know how to make right 400+ years of the worst injustices. I wonder what's wrong with us. I fear we cannot be redeemed.

Check the reply to this post for my follow-up to this week's Parts 1-3 #TopicOfConversation. I loved all of it. TY. If you have’t had a chance read all the responses and feel free to answer the questions.
