Fix your tools

Last week I had to diagnose a bug in an open source library I maintain. The issue was gnarly enough that I couldn’t find it right away, but then I thought: if I set a breakpoint here and fire up the debugger, I will likely find the root cause very soon… and then proceed to mercilessly destroy it! So I rolled up my sleeves, set the breakpoint, fired up the debugger, and… saw the program run to completion without interruptions whatsoever.

⚡ Why Is My Power Drill Smoking?

If your drill starts smoking, it’s a big warning sign. Here are the 3 most common causes and how to fix them fast:

1️⃣ Overheating motor → Stop & let it cool down before using again.
2️⃣ Worn-out brushes → Replace the carbon brushes (easy & cheap fix!).
3️⃣ Clogged vents/dust → Clean with compressed air to restore airflow.

Gardenfolk and the mechanically informed; advice please ? What happens when you dont wipe away excess lanolin on a set of garden choppers? Google tells me how to clean them a million times, but I can't figure out the consequences of omitting that step.

I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with mine and how to fix/prevent. Suddenly they are very stiff to open and shut (comparable to chopping a small branch both ways), all the way, not just when the blade touches (so I don't think it's the black patch causing it). They're honestly not excessively dirty or rusty? But I think they didn't get a wipe down after their last spray- could that be it? Fine last use a couple of months ago.

I quite like pruning, but my lack of upper body strength is making me sad to use these now!

Reccoendations to fix? Do I need to take apart to get at interior stickiness?

Ground is officially too wet to ever use the lawnmower ever again. Sharpening the scythe... Thanks to my mate Andy for the sharpening skills.
