I just read the self styled acid western RPG *Frontier Scum* and it has a very interesting mechanic for handling being drunk.
When drunk, swap two stats around. Then the next time you're pissed out of your mind, the same stats gets swapped.
I think this could very well be used in other games to good effect!
Stages of enlightenment:
-2 : actively lying to others
-1 : actively lying to yourself
0 : unconsciously lying to yourself
1 : actively trying to find the most accurate understanding
2: wondering if everything you think you know is actually just just a belief* and if absolutely correct* truths are even knowable*
3: ???? Socrates ????
