How meat and dairy giants gree...
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse 😡
An Australian outfit plans to fast-track a dirty new industry in Southland using FILTHY lignite (brown coal) to create urea.
Urea is synthetic nitrogen ‘fertiliser’ that drives dairy expansion, the pollution of rivers and contamination of drinking water and climate pollution.
It would be a disaster.

@jhaue @nickofnz is your toxic algal bloom in NZ a #toomanycows issue? #NZPol
No one in Australia is really addressing it, but given that Australia uses around 5 tonne of fertilizer a year which has to run off somewhere...guessing that South Australian algae might have some fossil fuelled fertiliser assistance in getting going...

Denmark’s so-called “Pig Election” matters for healthy water far beyond Denmark - including Aotearoa https://www.greenpeace.org/international/story/82416/denmark-pig-election-drinking-water-farming-pollution/?utm_medium=nickofnz&utm_content=postid-82416&utm_campaign=&utm_source=bluesky

Denmark’s “Pig Election” shows how industrial meat and dairy are polluting drinking water and why this fight matters far beyond Denmark. From nitrate contamination to pesticide pollution, communities are pushing back against Big Ag and demanding a different food system.
