This Story Hour starts Spookymonth a bit early with two excellent stories read exquisitely. @thomasha.bsky.social introduces us to the creeping horror of "The Mub," and @claymcleod.bsky.social reads a cozy little story called "the fireplace." Haha, just kidding. It's hair-raising. I need to get the chimney removed now. @ThomasHa @claymcleod #Horror #HorrorFiction #ClayMcLeodChapman #ThomasHa #Bookstodon #StoryHour2020 #ShortStories #ShortFiction #AuthorReading https://youtu.be/Z5SMNWo2kKU

While his work has been called weird, weird horror, and sci-fi, in my exclusive interview with author Thomas Ha about his #ShortStory collection "Uncertain Sons," he says, "I'm a bit of a mix," and that, "the confusion is very much part of the fun."

This week, the birds descended like they saw Tippi Hedren. Thomas Ha's grackles terrified in the disquieting "Window Boy," and Marie Brennan explored the myth of the valravn in "This is How." Excellent stories made even better in company. You can still watch! @swan_tower @ThomasHa #StoryHour2020 #ShortStories #AuthorReading #Fantasy #Mythology #ScienceFiction #Dystopian #ThomasHa #MarieBrennan https://www.facebook.com/100039975042631/videos/725223232765492

Tonight, 7 p.m. PST! Come hear me read a story that's, er, kinda grim? But hopeful in the end? I promise?
