@Wayne_Murillo The #Radch trilogy is one if my favorite SciFi book series! Fun fact: There us a hint to #SacredHarp singing hidden in the story, and I know a couple of #shapenote singers who found out about if this way.
I also highly recommend #AnnLeckie’s #TheRavenTower. Different pace, different setting, but similar poetic approach, and the #gender topic also plays a role. Amazing book, it also reminded me a lot of #KazuoIshiguro’s #TheBuriedGiant.

The fun thing about #TheRavenTower by #AnnLeckie is that the _terror_ of the Strength and Patience of the Hills has very little to do with strength-- even though that turns out to be tremendous-- and everything to do with patience.

It's not going to throw its weight around (save That Incident). It's just going to ponder you very deeply and set a plan in motion where your death comes inevitably fifty years later; and only then do you learn it even, properly speaking, exists.

I very much like the narrator and the 1st person/2nd person narration happening.

Allusions to the character Eolo being transgender have me excited. Bindings but male pronouns? Yes please! (Did Eolo run away as a girl and join the army as a boy? Is that why he was nervous when he met Dera?)

Please let him hook up with Tikaz.

Plot feels like it's deliberately taking it's time. And I appreciate that this is a book you should probably devote a significant portion of time to get anywhere. My whole evening tonight will get me about a quarter to a third of the way through.

What does everyone else think so far?
