Agi: Crollo Torre del Moro: condannate 9 persone tra 8 mesi e 3 anni

AGI - Il Tribunale di Milano ha condannato nove imputati a pene tra gli otto mesi e i tre anni nel processo per disastro colposo relativo al rogo della Torre del Moro, il grattacielo di 18 piani che il 29 agosto 2021 prese fuoco. Non ci furono nè vittime nè feriti.
Quattro imputati sono stati assolti per non avere commesso il fatto. La pm Marina Petruzzella aveva chiesto condanne ben più severe alla giudice Amelia Managò fino a otto anni di reclusione. "Quello che conta è l'affermazione della responsabilità, l'entità della pena è importante ma secondaria" ha detto la rappresentante dell'accusa dopo la lettura del verdetto. L' incendio non causò vittime anche perchè, molti residenti erano fuori città per le vacanze estive. Al centro dell'accusa c'era il rivestimento esterno 'a vela'. Le fiamme si sarebbero propagate in modo rapidissimo a causa dell'impiego di pannelli ritenuti "altamente infiammabili".

Four defendants were acquitted for failing to commit the act. The prosecutor Marina Petruzzella had requested much harsher sentences from judge Amelia Managò, up to eight years imprisonment. "What matters is the assertion of responsibility, the severity of the sentence is important but secondary," said the prosecutor after the verdict was read. The fire did not cause fatalities also because many residents were away from the city for summer vacations. At the center of the accusation was the external "sail" cladding. The flames spread rapidly due to the use of panels considered "highly flammable."
