Thank you @[email protected] for such a wonderful day of wildness, weirdness and warmth at #TheHauntedLandscape! Talks ranged from lost burial grounds in London to legend-tripping, taking in uncanny creatures and the wheel of the year in between. I loved it!
Early to bed with a purchase from yesterday's #TheHauntedLandscape lectures that I've been meaning to get my hands on for a while. #amreading #folklore #folktales
An entertaining and wildly informative talk by Irving Finkel about descriptions and discussion of #ghosts in Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets to end the day at #TheHauntedLandscape
Think the highlight of the day has been the chance to be mesmerised by the storytelling skills of @[email protected] #TheHauntedLandscape
Now learning about New Forest #pixie #folklore from Brice Stratford at #TheHauntedLandscape, including Lazy Laurence, protector of cider! 🍎🍺🍏https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazy_Laurence

Happy to be reminded and introduced to some of the many artworks inspired by Avebury stone circle by artists Daniel & Clara at #TheHauntedLandscape. Clockwise L-R: works by Paul Nash, John Piper, Eileen Agar, and Derek Jarman 😍
Someone on here talked about Jenny Greenteeth meaning duckweed awhile back I'm sure, as hearing it mentioned just now as part of #TheHauntedLandscape was very familar.

This is me, all day. Conway Hall and a day of talks about folklore and superstition courtesy of the London Fortean Society. One of my favourite days of the year.

It's #TheHauntedLandscape lecture day at Conway Hall. The point about people making/creating rather than just taking photos struck a note with me. Yes, you "take" them, but you've also looked, paused, seen what you want to capture (fleetingly) and mentally commissioned it.

Also my Dutch friend used to translate "take' to "make" and it never seemed odd. #Fortean
