Embattled Harris County Judge Kelli Johnson will resume her judicial duties on Wednesday after a brain injury recovery and the dismissal of an investigation into her judicial conduct, officials said.

Johnson will return to the bench after the formal dismissal of a Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct investigation into a complaint lodged by her court reporter alleging a hostile work environment, her attorney said.

Idaho, Kansas and Missouri requested late last year to pursue the case in federal court in Amarillo, Texas, after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a narrow ruling finding that abortion opponents who first filed the case lacked the legal right to sue.
