This is Pica Glass. It is an #impactite that is the result of a cometary impact in Chile's Atacama desert during the Pleistocene period. 💥

It contains stardust grains, zircons, and CAI inclusions that indicate a comet origin. ☄️

This specimen weighs 97 grams and resides in the Galactic Stone and Ironworks collection (see link in my profile).

Zhamanshinite impact glass from the Zhamanshin crater in Kazakhstan. It is a vesiculated, layered glassy material with melt flow that is visually similar to Darwin Glass from Australia. This crater in Kazakhstan is also the same source as Irghizite tektites. This hand specimen resides in the Galactic Stone & Ironworks collection.
