Just learned that sociologist Kathleen Lowney died early this past January. She was a great departmental colleague at #ValdostaStateUniversity and was the editor of the journal #TeachingSociology. But, Kathe also was willing to serve as a professional reference for me, even though it meant a loss to her academic program when I was hired elsewhere. She was principled, kind, diligent, and a supportive senior colleague.
