tashlich is my very favorite Jewish ritual. the first year I did it, we wrote down what we wanted to be rid of on a piece of paper, and tossed that into the water

this year, the Rabbi gave us each a handful of fish flakes or oats to imbue with our sins, so we could cast them to the sea (or wherever the Mill Creek goes)
